A Night to Remember - Part Two

Niall fiddled with his hair, hoping it looked perfect. This was it. He smiled as he was waiting outside Glass' apartment. Glass herself had shown up at his house a hour ago, screaming that he better look perfect. She had yelled that Odine was at her house and was to be picked up at exactly seven. Niall let out a shaky breath. He felt his pocket, making sure the ring hadn't fallen out. In the distance, the clock rang seven. Niall quickly moved his hand from his pocket and knocked on the door. It opened immediately, and Glass beamed at him. "She's just finishing up." She leaned in closer. "Do you have the ring?" Niall backed away in surprise.

"How?" Niall stuttered, protectively covering his pocket. Glass checked back in the house then stepped outside, shutting the door behind her. She crossed her arms and smirked.

"You shouldn't have told Enree. He has quite the blabber mouth, especially to his girlfriend." Glass explained, absentmindly playing with her hair. Niall gritted his teeth. I am so killing him later. At that moment, Odine stepped outside causing Niall's heart to leap. She looked awesome. Her hair pulled back out of her face, braided with flowers. She wore the green dress he had gotten her for Christmas.

"Is this what you were thinking of?" Odine said taking in Niall's blank stare. She spun around. Niall laughed and swam forward, kissing her cheek. He took her hand, and they waved farewell to Glass. At the last moment, Glass swam after them and pulled Niall aside. Odine frowned, but didn't ask anything.

"What?" Niall said partially annoyed.

"Enree also told me that you should watch out. There has been a few 'shark' sightings." Glass whispered. Niall's eyes widened.

"Why does he always have to mess everything up?" Niall groaned. Glass shrugged.

"Just watch out, okay." She smiled and gave him a hug. "I hope she says yes."

Niall went back to Odine and together, they swam to their favorite spot. Niall helped Odine up onto the rock, where above the twinkling stars danced. The town was quiet tonight, and the air was warm. A platter of fish and clams sat in the center  surrounded by a few plates and cups. Niall had hoped that his presentation would shock her since he barely cooks. Odine gasped.

"Niall! You did this?" Odine said incredulously. Niall nodded and gestured ofr her to sit. They ate at once laughing and talking like the best of friends. At the end of the meal, they sat side by side staring up at the stars. This was it! Niall slowly pulled the ring from his pocket. Odine was still staring up at the stars.

"Odine," Niall took her hand. "we've known each other for years and years. And I think you're the most beautiful and kindhearted person I know. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Niall said slowly, watching as tears welled in Odine's eyes. Niall presented the ring that he had found along the beach. It was a human ring with a gleaming diamond in the center. "Are you going to answer or not?" Odine laughed.

"Niall," she said smiling. "y--"

"Well, isn't this sweet?" A sarcastic voice came up from the water. The shark, Yuma, cam into view. "Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He mocked Niall then laughed. He swam around the rock.

"What do you want, Yuma?" Niall said furiously. Yuma laughed again.

"Oh, young Niall. I want what you have. I want precious Odine." Yuma called. As quick as (well) a shark, Yuma jumped over the rock, grabbing Odine as he went.

"NIALL!" She cried, reaching for him. Yuma and Odine disappeared into the water.

"Odine!" Niall dove in, just in time to see Odine and Yuma disappearing into the distance. Odine still screaming Niall's name as the darkness shrouded her from him. "ODINE!"
